A grand Akhanda Hanuman Chalisa - chanting of the divine Hanuman Chalisa was held at the Sringeri Sharadamba Temple on Saturday 20 December 2014, where devotees from all communities converged to sing the Hanuman Chalisa from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

 

The day started with Guru Vandana at 7.30 am and the first batch started the chanting at 8.00 am. Several batches of devotees took the platform and chanted the divine shlokas in variouys styles all singing the praise of Lord Hanuman. The schedule of chanting were as follows:

 

8.00 am - SVBF Group 1 led by Dr. Alakananda Nath

9.15 am - Yogini Parthasarathy Group

10.30 am - Neeta Anilkumar Group

11.45 am - SVBF Group 2 led by Dr. Alakananda Nath

1.00 pm - Padma Narain Group from Fiji

2.15 pm - Children of Madras Arts and Cultural Association (MACA)

2.30 pm - SVBF Men's Group

3.30 pm - Ravi Gunturi group (Telugu)

4.45 pm - Ram Ramotar Group (Guyana)

6.00 pm - Vinayak Hegde and Sharada Bhat Group

7.15 pm - SVBF Group 3 led by Dr. Alakananda Nath

 

The evening ended with Maha Mangalaarthi at 8.15 pm and maha prasada.

 

The devotees attended in large numbers throughout the day and prasadam was served all throughout.
