To promote Indian Classical Art, Music and Dance, SVBF Canada
conducted the first ever Kala Sammelan (Art Conference/Symposium)
on October 15,2023 with the following goals and objectives:
Goals of the Symposium:

Bring together youth, schools,
teachers, artists, and connoisseurs to engage, collaborate,
and
communicate about the cultural arts within a vibrant community
forum.

Offer tribute to exceptional
teachers who inspire, nurture, and motivate our children and
adults
-
To preserve and promote the
classical music and dance forms of South Asia in Toronto region.
-
Provide a platform for discussing
the current and future state of South Asian classical music
and dance forms in Canada.
-
Facilitate collaboration and
networking opportunities among artists and various community
groups.
-
Recognize and honor outstanding
artists and organizations in the above cultural arts field.
-
Offer a recurring platform
for artists to showcase their arts regularly.
As part of this annual event, awards will be conferred to
exceptional artists within the chosen theme,
based on criteria determined by the Board.
